Crosstex Energy Commits to Barnett Shale Energy Education Council
Crosstex Is First Midstream Company to Join North Texas Organization
DALLAS, Jun 02, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Crosstex Energy, L.P. (NASDAQ: XTEX) (the Partnership) announced today that it has joined the Barnett Shale Energy Education Council (BSEEC). Crosstex, the first midstream energy services company to join the BSEEC, will help the organization develop public communications about midstream natural gas services, including information on gas gathering, transmission, processing and treating. Crosstex currently owns and operates approximately 700 miles of gathering and transmission pipeline in the North Texas region, three cryogenic processing plants and multiple amine-treating plants. Crosstex recently announced plans for a fourth processing plant and will begin construction later this year.

"We are proud to become a member of the BSEEC and align our community education efforts with other leaders in the industry," said Barry E. Davis, Crosstex Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "As the production of natural gas from the Barnett Shale increases, especially in urban areas, it's important our neighbors understand the vital need for infrastructure to transport natural gas to market. We are honored to participate on the BSEEC and stand beside notable energy companies who have made a commitment to improve the communications about the Barnett Shale."

BSEEC is a community resource that provides information about natural gas drilling and production in the Barnett Shale, the largest natural gas field in the United States. The Barnett Shale encompasses more than 5,000 square miles in 17 North Texas counties and contains more than 26 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. For more information, visit www.bseec.org.

In addition to Crosstex, BSEEC members are: Chesapeake Energy, Dale Resources, Devon Energy, EnCana, EOG Resources, Forest Oil, XTO Energy, Axia Land Services and Quicksilver Resources.
